In a significant step towards improving rail connectivity and passenger convenience in Murshidabad region,, Sealdah Division has extended three existing MEMU services, which were earlier terminating at Cossimbazar, up to Berhampore Court station.
The extended services were formally flagged off from Berhampore Court station by Sri Subrata Maitra Hon’ble MLA/Berhampore, in presence of Divisional Railway Manager/Sealdah Sri Rajeev Saxena.
The extension of these services provides direct connectivity between Azimganj and Berhampore Court, benefiting daily commuters, students, office-goers, and other passengers travelling in the section. The move is expected to facilitate smoother travel and improve accessibility to Berhampore Court, an important administrative, educational, and commercial hub of the district.
The details of the extended MEMU services are as follows:
*Extension of 63042/63041 MEMU Pair*
• *63042* Azimganj – Berhampore Court MEMU (extended from Cossimbazar) will leave Azimganj at 06:55 hrs as per the existing schedule and reach Berhampore Court at 07:20 hrs.
• In return direction, 63041 Berhampore Court – Azimganj MEMU will depart Berhampore Court at 07:35 hrs and arrive at Azimganj at 08:02 hrs.
*Extension of 63046/63045 MEMU Pair*
• *63046* Azimganj – Berhampore Court MEMU (extended from Cossimbazar) will leave Azimganj at 19:50 hrs and reach Berhampore Court at 20:15 hrs.
• In return direction, *63045* Berhampore Court – Azimganj MEMU will depart Berhampore Court at 20:53 hrs and reach Azimganj at 21:20 hrs.
*Extension of 63058/63057 MEMU Pair*
• *63058* Azimganj – Berhampore Court MEMU (extended from Cossimbazar) will leave Azimganj at 21:30 hrs and arrive at Berhampore Court at 21:57 hrs.
• In return direction, *63057* Berhampore Court – Azimganj MEMU will depart Berhampore Court at 22:12 hrs and reach Azimganj at 22:39 hrs.
Divisional Railway Manager Sri Rajeev Saxena said that, the extension of these existing MEMU services reflects Sealdah Division’s continued commitment to improving rail connectivity and addressing the travel needs of passengers in the region. The enhanced connectivity is expected to provide greater convenience and better transportation options for residents of Azimganj, Cossimbazar, Berhampore, and adjoining areas.
Passengers are requested to take note of the revised terminal station and timings while planning their journeys.
