A serious accident was miraculously averted this morning due to exceptional presence of mind and swift action of a vigilant driver of EMU train. Noticing a sleeper kept on the track, the train driver reacted instantly to prevent any possible mishap.
Reportedly one sleeper was placed on railway track between Deula- Magrahat by some unknown people, taking the advantage of on-going obstruction. Railway condemned such irresponsible act of placing sleeper on railway tracks which could endanger the lives of passengers.
Banana leaves were also thrown on the Overhead Equipment (OHE) wires between Magrahat and Deula affecting train movements. Maintenance staff immediately rush to the site to remove banana leaves and resume normal train movement
This irresponsible behaviour not only endangers the lives of passengers and railway staff but also causes immense hardship for commuters, especially those with urgent travel needs. Such acts are not just dangerous; it’s also punishable offense under the Railway Act.
Sealdah Division condemns this hazardous and illegal activity in the strongest possible terms. Tampering with railway infrastructure, particularly OHE wires, is a serious crime that threatens public safety and the smooth operation of essential services. We assure the public that culprits of such acts will be pursued and face the full force of the law.
