In a prozactive response to the heightened security landscape across the Eastern Railway, Sealdah Division has decisively elevated its security posture, placing its Railway Protection Force (RPF) on high alert.
The impact of this heightened alert is already being felt across the Sealdah divisional railway network. Fuelling points, vital nodes in the railway’s operation, are now under a more stringent security umbrella. The presence of dog squads has become a more familiar sight, their keen senses deployed with increased frequency to conduct thorough sweeps of stations and trains, adding an extra layer of detection and deterrence.
The deployment of RPF and RPSF at railway stations and Level Crossing (LC) gates has also been reinforced. Regular patrols are being conducted at stations and along railway tracks. Intensified security checks are being carried out at railway stations using luggage scanners and handheld metal detectors. Special watch is being maintained at overcrowded places such as PRS Counters, Clock Rooms, Waiting Halls, toilets, and in concourse areas. Both day and night, RPF personnel are more actively present, maintaining a watchful eye over tracks & platforms.
DRM Sealdah Sri Rajeev Saxena is stated that RPF Sealdah is driven by an unwavering dedication to passenger safety. By mirroring the broader security enhancements across Sealdah Division, including proactive passenger engagement, strategic deployment of personnel, advanced technological checks, and focused monitoring of high-traffic areas.
Sealdah Division is reinforcing its commitment to provide a secure and reassuring travel experience for everyone. The increased security presence and rigorous checks serve as a tangible demonstration of this commitment, aiming to both prevent potential threats and encourage confidence in the passengers.
