In a significant step further towards enhancing passenger convenience and safety, the long-awaited concrete road approach to Dakshin Barasat railway station has been successfully constructed. This development work has been completed by Eastern Railway, Sealdah Division to fulfil the demand of the local inhabitants for a encroachment free and easily navigable approach road connecting this station.
Dakshin Barasat , a popular destination on the Sealdah South section witnessed a substantial improvement in its amenities and facilities for which Sr.Divisional Engineer (Co), Sri Sachin Suman, Sr.Divisonal Engineer, Sri Rakesh Ranjan took initiative under the guidance of Sri Rajeev Saxena DRM Sealdah.
The area adjacent to the station had unfortunately become a site of extensive encroachment, effectively transforming into an informal marketplace and severely hindering the movement of passengers to approach Dakshin Barasat Station.
Acknowledging the long-standing grievances of the commuters, Sealdah Divisional authority took decisive action to address the issue. A comprehensive eviction drive was undertaken to clear all encroachments, paving the way for the construction of a robust concrete road with the reuse of old concrete sleeper. This newly built road will not only ensure a smooth and safe passage for passengers entering and exiting the railway station but will also significantly improve the overall accessibility of the area.
In this context Sri Rajeev Saxena , DRM Sealdah stated that this initiative underscores the commitment of Sealdah Division to prioritize creation of facilities for more comfortable and hassle free movement of passengers.
