In a proactive move to ensure passenger safety, hygiene, and the decongestion of station premises, Eastern Railway, Sealdah Division has launched a comprehensive Awareness Drive against unauthorized vendors.

The initiative aims to educate commuters on the risks associated with purchasing food and services from unlicensed hawkers and to discourage illegal encroachments that obstruct passenger movement.

As part of this campaign, Sealdah Division is deploying high-visibility communication tools to reach thousands of daily commuters.

Awareness stickers are being prominently displayed at high-traffic touch points, including booking windows, concourse areas, and all major entry/exit gates.

The drive is being executed simultaneously across all major stations within the division.

Sealdah Division emphasizes that unauthorized vending not only compromises the hygiene standards of the railway ecosystem but also poses a security risk and hinders the smooth flow of foot traffic during peak hours.
