Under the guidance of Ms. Gitika Pandey, General Manager, Eastern Railway, a seminar on “Public Procurement and Government e-Marketplace (GeM): Ensuring Probity in Public Procurement” was organised at Eastern Railway Headquarters, Fairlie Place, Kolkata, on 27 October 2026, as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026.
Shri Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway, attended the seminar, reinforcing the importance of integrity and transparency in public procurement.
Shri Sandeep Shukla, Principal Chief Materials Manager (PCMM), and Shri Deepak Nigam, Senior Deputy General Manager (SDGM), Eastern Railway, along with other senior officers from Eastern Railway Headquarters and Divisions, also participated in the programme.
The seminar focused on promoting transparency, fairness, integrity and accountability in public procurement, with emphasis on ethical practices and the effective utilisation of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
