Newssuper, Report Tania Kundu Kolkata, December 08, 2025:Eastern Railway observed Mahaparinirvan Diwas today at its Headquarters, Fairlie Place, Kolkata, paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The ceremony was led by Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, who offered floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait.

The ceremony was attended by Smt. Zarina Firdausi, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, along with the Principal Heads of Departments of Eastern Railway and employees, all of whom paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The occasion highlighted Eastern Railway’s commitment to honouring Dr. Ambedkar’s pivotal role in shaping the Constitution and his contributions to social justice.

Mahaparinirvan Diwas is observed to commemorate the death anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, fondly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar. A visionary leader, social reformer, and legal scholar, Dr. Ambedkar dedicated his life to promoting equality and fighting caste-based discrimination. His contributions continue to inspire millions across India in the pursuit of justice and inclusivity.

In addition to the ceremony at Eastern Railway headquarters, Mahaparinirvan Diwas was also observed across various divisional headquarters of Eastern Railway, including the Divisional Railway Managers’ (DRMs) Offices of Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, and Malda Divisions, as well as Workshops and other offices, where officers and staff paid homage to Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar.
