Under the guidance of Ms. Gitika Pandey, General Manager, Eastern Railway, the Traction Rolling Operation (TRO) Department of Howrah Division organised a Family Safety Seminar on 28 October 2026, focusing on the safety, health and well-being of running staff.
Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE), Eastern Railway, and the Principal Chief Safety Officer (PCSO), Eastern Railway, attended the seminar, emphasising the importance of crew alertness, SPAD prevention and strict adherence to prescribed safety procedures.
Shri Vishal Kapoor, Divisional Railway Manager, Howrah, along with senior officers of Howrah Division, also participated in the programme.
The seminar brought together around 100 running staff and their family members, featuring meditation sessions by Brahma Kumaris, medical and dietary counselling, and interactive discussions on stress management, adequate rest, healthy habits and work-life balance.
The initiative underscored the vital role of family support, professional discipline and physical and mental fitness in ensuring safe railway operations.
