Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (Train No. 12313/12314) today marked a significant milestone, celebrating its 25th anniversary with much fanfare and enthusiasm at Sealdah Station. The inaugural journey of this prestigious train took place on this very day in the year 2000, connecting the vibrant city of Kolkata with the nation’s capital, New Delhi.
To commemorate this silver jubilee, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Sealdah, Shri Rajeev Saxena, flagged off the specially adorned train. Locomotive and coaches were elaborately decorated, reflecting the joyous occasion and captivating the attention of passengers and onlookers alike.
Passengers on today’s journey were treated to a truly special experience. As a unique highlight, the dinner menu included the iconic GI-tagged Kolkata Rasogolla, adding a sweet and authentic touch to the celebration. Furthermore, all passengers were warmly welcomed aboard with fresh rose buds, symbolizing the enduring elegance and hospitality associated with the Rajdhani Express.
The 1st AC Coach H1 of this train depicted the history of British rule and development of Kolkata and Delhi with beautiful scatches and history associated with it.
