Newssuper Report Tania Kundu Kolkata, 24 Noember 2025: Sealdah Division, Eastern Railway has achieved significant success in curbing the menace of fraudulent Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) and ensuring passenger safety following the introduction of a “Unique identification badge” system for Ticket checking staff. This innovative step has proven highly effective in distinguishing genuine officials from imposters, leading to a noticeable reduction in fraud cases over the past several days.
This initiative, pioneered by the Sr. Divisional commercial Manager Sri Jasram Meena under the guidance of DRM Sealdah Sri Rajeev Saxena, mandates that all on-duty TTEs wear a specially designed badge, which acts as a clear and verifiable mark of authenticity. This unique badge system empowers both passengers and other railway staff to quickly and easily identify authorised personnel, thereby deterring individuals who attempt to impersonate TTEs to extort money from unsuspecting commuters.
This proactive measure has already yielded concrete results, with several recent incidents leading to the successful apprehension of fake TTEs. These arrests, which were made possible due to the vigilance of alert passengers and railway staff who recognized the absence of the official badge, underscore the effectiveness of this security enhancement.

Sealdah Division remains dedicated to enhancing passenger experience and security, and this unique badge initiative is a testament to its commitment to transparency and combating corruption and also urge to passengers kindly co-operate Railway Employees for smooth operation.
