In preparation for the upcoming Gangasagar Mela 2026, Shri Jasram Meena, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Sealdah Division, chaired a high-level coordination meeting today with all ticket checking staff and commercial supervisors. The meeting focused on enhancing passenger facilitation and ensuring a seamless experience for the thousands of pilgrims expected to travel through the division.

Prioritizing the Pilgrim Experience Recognizing that ticket checking staff are the primary “face” of the Railways, Shri Jasram Meena emphasized the importance of soft skills and empathetic public dealing because employees interact directly with the public, their approach must be exceptionally helpful and courteous to reflect the Division’s commitment to service, issued strategic guidelines for seamless management.

*• Hassle-Free Ticketing:* Detailed instructions were given to ensure that pilgrims face no difficulties in procuring tickets. Additional counters and staff will be deployed to manage the influx and maximum use of M-UTS.

*• Real-Time Information:* Shri Meena mandated that all personnel stationed at Enquiry Desks must possess up-to-date information regarding train timings, platform changes, and special mela services to prevent any confusion.

*• Enhanced Communication:*
Directed that proper and frequent announcements be made across stations to guide pilgrims efficiently.

*• Active Supervision:* Commercial supervisors were appealed to remain “fully active” and present on the ground throughout the duration of the festival to monitor operations and provide immediate solutions to any emerging issues.
