In a significant step towards improving passenger amenities, Sealdah Division near completion of platform raising work across all stations of Division. This extensive project, covered Sealdah South, Main, and North sections, was undertaken to ensure seamless boarding and de boarding for all passengers, thereby eliminating inconvenience and enhancing safety.
In this financial year 2024-25 and 2025-2026, division has successfully raised platforms at 31 stations, rest 10 nos of stations’ platform raising work is in pipe line.This extensive project was undertaken with a substantial investment of ₹ 37 Cr.
The initiative is part of the division’s continuous efforts to upgrade infrastructure and provide better facilities for the millions of commuters who use the Sealdah network daily. The raised platforms will allow passengers to step on and off trains more easily, particularly benefiting the elderly, children, and those with disabilities or heavy luggage.
Sri Rajeev Saxena DRM/Sealdah stated, that passenger convenience and safety are our top priorities. The completion of this platform raising work is a testament to our commitment. We believe this improvement will make a noticeable difference in the daily travel experience of our passengers.
