Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway today hosted a significant meeting with various passenger associations, focusing on enhancing passenger amenities and addressing new demands. The meeting, chaired by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shri Rajeev Saxena, saw full participation from representatives from all 15 passenger associations across the division.

During the session, passenger association representatives put forth several new suggestions aimed at improving travel experiences. These included requests for new train services and additional stoppages at various stations. A major point of discussion also revolved around identifying and addressing existing gaps in passenger amenities. In response, Sealdah Division reiterated its commitment to passenger comfort, informing attendees that all essential passenger amenities are already available at stations across the division, and they also raised demands for new trains and additional stoppages in various stations across the division.

DRM Sealdah Shri Rajeev Saxena assured the associations that these proposals would be subject to a feasibility check. He further stated that necessary action would be taken on these demands as expeditiously as possible, following the assessment.

Sri Saxena also highlights the increased focus on passenger welfare, it was shared that ₹ 75.75 crore was sanctioned for passenger amenities across the division last year(23-24) and this year(24-25) an increased allocation of ₹ 82.11 crore more has been sanctioned till date. This significant boost in funds aims to provide passengers with every possible convenience.
The collaborative meeting underscored Sealdah Division’s dedication to working closely with passenger representatives to continually upgrade services and facilities for the travelling public.
