Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway today enthusiastically celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) with widespread participation across the division. Adding a unique touch to the celebrations, a specially decorated EMU rake was run, carrying the message of yoga and well-being to commuters.
The main event was held at Manthan, Sealdah, under the dynamic leadership of Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Shri Kundan Sahay, and the inspiring guidance of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Sealdah, Shri Rajeev Saxena.
The celebrations extended beyond Manthan, with various locations across the Sealdah Division hosting their own Yoga sessions, emphasizing the importance of health and well-being among railway employees and their families.
A highlight of the events was the participation of Yoga experts from Brahma Kumaris, who led the sessions, providing valuable insights and practical demonstrations of various yoga asanas and breathing exercises. Their guidance ensured that participants, from beginners to experienced practitioners, could engage effectively.
A significant moment during the celebrations was when all attendees collectively took the Yoga Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to incorporating yoga into their daily lives for a healthier and more balanced existence. On this occasion, DRM Sealdah, Shri Rajeev Saxena, addressed the gathering, stating, Yoga is not just an exercise but a way of life. It’s a powerful tool for physical and mental well-being, especially crucial in today’s fast-paced world. I encourage everyone to make yoga a regular part of their routine for a healthier and more balanced life. The event underscored Sealdah Division’s dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a sense of community among its employees.
