Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway has implemented comprehensive and passenger-friendly special arrangements to manage the festive rush for Chhath Puja travellers, and receiving overwhelming appreciation from the commuters.
For the convenience of the passengers of Kolkata – Jaynagar route during this Chhat, Sealdah Division arranged to run a unreserved special train from Sealdah to Jaynagar on the route of Gangasagar express. This special train will cater the increased travel demand, offering more convenient and efficient transportation options.
The special measures, designed to ensure a smooth, convenient, and crowd-free travel experience, have been a resounding success. Passengers have expressed great satisfaction with the proactive steps taken by the division.

*Coupon System for Streamlined Boarding* : A major relief for travellers has been the introduction of a Coupon System in the Holding Areas. This systematic approach is effectively managing the passenger flow, ensuring that every traveller is guided and escorted to the correct platform for their respective train in an orderly manner, thus eliminating overcrowding and confusion at the platform entrance.
*Mobile Ticketing using (M-UTS)* : To save passengers from the trouble of standing in long queues at ticket windows, Sealdah division has deployed staff with M-UTS (mobile Unreserved Ticketing System) machines. Tickets are being issued to passengers directly in the holding areas. This initiative has significantly reduced wait times and long ticket counter queues, drawing great appreciation from the public.
*Special Trains Reduce Congestion* : The running of Special Trains to Jaynagar and other Chhath destinations has successfully managed the high passenger volume. Travellers on the special services, particularly the Bihar Bound, have reported a palpable sense of relief from the usual heavy festive rush, with the additional capacity ensuring a more comfortable journey.
