In a significant push towards ‘Swachh Rail,’ Swachh Bharat, Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway conducted an extensive, large-scale anti-littering special campaign across the division. The initiative marked a historic milestone, recording the highest-ever achievement in the last five years for both the number of cases detected and the total fine amount realized in a single day.
The drive was characterized by its scale and rigor, leading to the detection of 506 anti-littering cases. Through strict enforcement of railway bylaws, a total penalty amount of Rs. 1.08 lakh was realized from offenders.
To foster a sense of responsibility among commuters, division organized Prabhat Ferries and frequent announcements across all major stations. These efforts aimed to educate passengers on the importance of maintaining cleanliness.
This record-breaking performance underscores Sealdah Division’s unwavering commitment to providing a clean and hygienic travel environment. By integrating community engagement with firm discipline, division aims to set a new benchmark for station upkeep and passenger behavior.
