The core objective to introduce customer oriented initiative is to leverage cutting edge technology in fostering a trouble free, seamless and accessible ticketing. Deploying Mobile UTS ticketing machines offer several advantages:
1. Mobile UTS machines, placed at convenient locations, has reduced the need to queue at traditional ticket counters for commuters – particularly senior citizens, sick, ladies and divyangjan.
2. By automating ticketing processes, Mobile UTS machines can help reducing the workload on Railway staff, enabling Railway administration to use them on other core activities like safety, punctuality etc for the sake of more streamlined Railway operations.
3. These machines provide much needed flexibility for easy relocation to areas with high passenger traffic, ensuring that ticketing services are available where they are needed most.
4. By providing additional ticketing points, Mobile UTS machines help distribute passengers more evenly.
5. Decentralised ticketing obviously facilitate faster service. With more ticketing points available, passengers can purchase tickets quickly, avoiding near misses by reducing wait times and minimizing congestion.
6. It certainly improves overall passenger experience at densely populated Railway premises like Sealdah.
7. Last but not the least, Mobile UTS machines can provide real-time data on ticket sales, helping Railway Administration monitor passenger traffic for optimising operations.
Passengers are being encouraged to avail themselves of this convenient UTS ticketing service offered by the Railway staff on the station premises. The initial response to this initiative has been quite encouraging. Over the past three days, a total of 952 passengers have utilized the mobile UTS service, generating a revenue of ₹26,305. This positive uptake underscores the convenience and utility of bringing ticket purchasing directly to the passengers.
