HON’BLE MINISTER FOR RAILWAYS CONFERED ATI VISHISHT RAIL SEVA PURASKAR-2025 TO 100 RAILWAY OFFICIALS & 26 SHIELDS TO BEST PERFORMING ZONES IN DIFFERENT CATEGORIES

• Eastern Railway Bagged Two Coveted Shields
• Eastern Railway receives Commercial Shield for the second consecutive time along with Sarvottam Suraksha Shield (earlier Safety Shield).
• 13 Eastern Railway officials honoured with Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2025, the highest among all Zonal Railways.

Indian Railways has honoured 100 dedicated employees and officers with the prestigious Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2025 (AVSRP) for their exceptional contributions to the Indian Railways. The award ceremony was held on Friday (January 09, 2026), at India International Convention & Expo Centre, Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, Delhi. Union Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw conferred Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar to Railway officials.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Minister of State for Railways & Jal Shakti, Shri V. Somanna, Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, Shri Ravneet Singh, the Chairman & CEO of Railway Board, Shri Satish Kumar, Members of the Railway Board and General Managers of various Railway Zones and Production Units.
As the Recognition of Excellence, a total of 100 awardees have been selected across various categories, including innovation leading to improvement in productivity, revenue generation, safety, improvement in operation, security, project completion and sports. In addition to the individual awards, 26 Shields were presented to the best-performing Railway Zones in various categories, recognizing their outstanding achievements and contributions to the overall performance of the Indian Railways.

On this occasion Railway Week Central Function, 2 coveted shields viz. Commercial Shield and Sarvottam Suraksha Shield (earlier Safety Shield) have been conferred to Eastern Railway. These shields were handed over by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways to Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway. Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Eastern Railway also accompanied the General Manager on this momentous occasion. Eastern Railway received Commercial Shield for the second consecutive time along with Sarvottam Suraksha Shield (earlier Safety Shield) creating a record.

The recipients of the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2025 from Eastern Railway include both Gazetted and Non-Gazetted officials, representing a cross-section of the diverse workforce that drives the success of Indian Railways:

Gazetted Officials of Eastern Railway received AVRSP Award :

4. Shri Amar Kumar – Track Maintainer-IV

7. Shri Sushil Kumar – Sr. Section Engineer (PWay)

A committee was constituted by Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, to shortlist candidates from the self-nominations received for the “Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar – 2025”. The shortlisting process was conducted in a transparent, objective, and well-defined manner. Thirteen (13) officials of Eastern Railway were conferred with the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2025—the highest number among all Zonal Railways. This marks the first occasion that such a large number of officials from any single zone have received this prestigious honour. Since the introduction of this award, Eastern Railway has recorded the highest number of awardees.

This award ceremony serves as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate the dedication, hard work and exceptional contributions of Railway personnel towards making the Indian Railways a more efficient, safe and passenger friendly organization.
