In a continuing effort to strengthen safety awareness and foster a culture of vigilance across all departments, Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, released the “Safety Bulletin: January – March 2025” at Fairlie Place, Eastern Railway Headquarters today (13.05.2025). The event was graced by the presence of Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager/Eastern Railway, Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, Principal Chief Safety Officer/Eastern Railway and other Principal Officers.

While releasing the bulletin, the General Manager emphasized the critical role of safety in train operations and workplace activities. He conveyed that “Safety in train operations and safety at worksite are critical to the efficient functioning of Railways. Our constant vigil and learning can avert unsafe situations. Train accidents can have serious repercussions on property & human life and this thought alone should motivate all of us to ensure compliance of laid down safety protocols, rules in letter and spirit.”

He further appreciated the Eastern Railway Safety Department for bringing out the new edition of the Safety Bulletin, which contains valuable case studies and detailed safety procedures to be followed by various departments during worksite activities. Shri Deouskar expressed confidence that this initiative will contribute significantly to further improving the safety standards across Eastern Railway.

As part of the recognition of excellence in safety practices, 18 employees from various departments of Eastern Railway were recognised for their outstanding contributions in the field of safety during the quarter.

The Safety Bulletin for January –March 2025 also includes statistics of unusual incidents over Eastern Railway during 2023-24 & 2024-25, Safety Seminars & Safety Drives conducted over Eastern Railway during January to March 2025, safety circulars issued in January, February, and March 2025, a Joint Procedure Order for Movement of Track Machines & Route Learning, summer precautions & operational guidelines for conventional AC electric locomotives, three-phase AC electric locomotives, Diesel locomotives, EMU/MEMU rakes and engineering departmental worksites protection.

The Safety Bulletin prepared by Safety Department of Eastern Railway plays a crucial role to cultivate a strong sense of safety awareness among the staff and ensure they are well – conversed about the latest safety protocols and instructions.
