Newssuper Report Tania Kundu Kolkata: 02 Apr 2026
In a significant move toward social inclusion and empowerment, Sealdah Division has taken a transformative step by providing a dedicated ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) stall to the acid attack survivors of Chhanv Foundation. This initiative serves as a powerful catalyst, supporting these resilient individuals in their journey toward dignity and financial independence.
Chhanv Foundation also run “Sheroes” online Store—an empowering space where every product is ‘Crafted by Courage and Curated for Change.’ Since 2013, foundation worked for the holistic rehabilitation of acid attack survivors, whose incredible skills as artisans turn every handcrafted piece into a symbol of resilience. By providing this stall, Sealdah Division offers a concrete platform to showcase their talent and help them scale their handicraft business.
The OSOP scheme is an Indian Railways initiative designed to promote local supply chains. It provides specialized stalls at railway stations, allowing Self-Help Groups and marginalized artisans to sell indigenous products to a vast audience of passengers.
This initiative was envisioned by Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, during the recent International Women’s Day celebrations to empower and honour the spirit of women.
The inauguration was graced by Shri Rajeev Saxena DRM/Sealdah and Sr. Divisional Officers, and Smt. Nidhi Saxena President/ERWWO, Sealdah, along with other ERWWO members.
- This collaborative effort highlights the Sealdah Division’s commitment to fostering an environment where every woman has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the challenges she has faced.
