The inaugural ceremony of new Medical Equipment for Eastern Railway’s B. R. Singh Hospital through CSR initiative of Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) held at B. R. Singh Hospital today (25.6.2026).
This upgradation of medical infrastructure at B. R. Singh Hospital with state-of-the-art medical equipment through CSR initiative could be possible with patronage of General Manager/Eastern Railway, Shri Milind Deouskar.
Shri Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway lighted the ceremonial lamp and dedicated the new medical equipment in service of the ailing people in presence of Shri Manish Chandra, Executive Director, Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), Dr. Nataraj Basappa, Principal Chief Medical Director/Eastern Railway, Shri Rajeev Saxena, Divisional Railway Manager/Sealdah, Dr. Debasish Guha, Medical Director/B. R. Singh Hospital and other senior officers of Eastern Railway.
B.R. Singh Hospital, Eastern Railway’s premier healthcare facility, being one of the largest Hospitals in Indian Railways with Bed strength of 525, coined a major infrastructure upgradation with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Five (05) state-of-the-art medical instruments, funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) grant of ₹2.64 crores from the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), has been officially dedicated to the service of railway beneficiaries.
The induction of these advanced technologies marks a significant milestone in modernizing patient care, particularly for specialized cardiac and ENT treatments.
Event Highlights:
• Funded entirely via a specialized CSR initiative by IRFC following a MoU with Indian Railways to elevate healthcare infrastructure.
• The Equipment Procured:
Cardiology Department: A new Central Monitoring System, an Advanced Anaesthesia Workstation, and a high-end Echocardiography Machine to handle complex cardiac diagnostics.
ENT Department: an ENT Endoscopic Set-4K and A Micro Debrider Set for precise, minimally invasive surgeries.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway explained that the release of CSR activity fund by the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) for this hospital will further improve the existing the state-of-the-art medical facilities at B. R. Singh Hospital which in turn will benefit the Railway beneficiaries receiving treatment at this hospital.
In the programme, Dr. Debasish Guha, Medical Director/B. R. Singh Hospital made a PowerPoint presentation depicting how the CSR initiative of IRFC helped in augmenting the medical infrastructure at B. R. Singh Hospital by funding deployment of state-of-the-art medical equipment.
Emphasizing the importance of this infrastructure boost, Shri Shibram Majhi, Chief Public Relations Officer, Eastern Railway stated, “The integration of these highly advanced medical instruments underscores Eastern Railway’s unwavering commitment to providing top-tier, compassionate healthcare to our vast network of railway beneficiaries. This collaboration with IRFC serves as a benchmark for how corporate synergy can directly elevate public health infrastructure and deliver impactful, life-saving care to those who need it most.”
