Gorakhpur: North Eastern Railway (NER) has announced a series of festival special trains to clear the extra rush during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja 2026, informed CPRO Shri Sumit Kumar Ji.
Speaking to media, CPRO NER Shri Sumit Kumar Ji said that NER is committed to provide safe and comfortable journey to passengers returning to their hometowns.
Major Festival Special Trains Announced by NER:
1. 19427/19428 Bhuj – Barauni Amrit Bharat Express (Tri-Weekly): Departs Bhuj at 17:30 on Mon/Wed/Sat and Barauni at 23:55 on Tue/Thu/Sat. Route via Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur.【5613530315295492642†L173-L180】
2. Gorakhpur – Mumbai LTT, Gorakhpur – Pune, Gorakhpur – Ranchi Puja Specials via Gonda, Lucknow, Kanpur.
3. Anand Vihar Terminal – Bhagalpur Festival Special (04062/04061) – Daily 94 trips.
4. New Delhi – Supaul (04072/04071) – Daily 118 trips – Highest trips in NER/NR combined.
5. Amritsar – Kolkata and Amritsar – Barauni Weekly Festival Specials for Puja and Chhath passengers.
CPRO Sumit Kumar added that all trains will have AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper and General coaches with Divyangjan-friendly compartments. Passengers are advised to verify timings on IRCTC and NER social media handles.
This move will benefit lakhs of passengers traveling across UP, Bihar, West Bengal and Gujarat during the festive season.
