Newssuper Report Tania Kundu kolkata, November 15, 2025 –Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division today successfully launched the inaugural run of a new EMU local service between Amghata Halt and Krishnanagar City Junction stations, marking a significant step towards enhancing railway connectivity in the region.
The inaugural run of the train initiated today in august presence of the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Jagannath Sarkar.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Infra/Sealdah Sri Rajesh Kumar along with other officials of the Sealdah Division and enthusiastic local residents were also present on the occasion.
The train departed from Amghata Halt at 12:00 hrs, signifying the start of a much-awaited service.
This inaugural service is a precursor to the introduction of 03 (three) pairs of new EMU local services between Krishnanagar City Jn. and Amghata Halt, which will be formally effective from November 17, 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble MP Shri Jagannath Sarkar hailed the new service as a “true milestone” that directly addresses the long-standing needs of the local populace. He expressed confidence that these services would drastically improve daily travel for thousands of passengers, offering a faster and more convenient mode of transport.
The regular services will commence on November 17, 2025, offering crucial connectivity on the following schedule:
